Hi all,

I am going on holiday for 2 weeks tomorrow and I'm trying to avoid using the Internet on this vacation, so I will be back on the 12th :)

Royal Baby- Congrats to Wills&Kate!

So, we've been inundated about the news that the future King was born yesterday at around 4pm in St Mary's Hospital. I saw this Lulu Guinness bag earlier and it's perfect for the occasion. Very cute :)

And that's not just all the fashion world has to offer, the royal baby boy (who I'm sure will be named George, infact I'm betting) will be a style icon; with designers trying to clothe him already! The Fashion King Karl Lagerfeld has joined in by designing a regal dummy (or posh pacifier) whilst Christian Lacroix has culminated a flamboyant buggy-carriage and the most charming babygros ever. Meanwhile, daring Dior has created a pretty white knitted trouser, cardi and hat combination and Vera Wang has conjured up a ultra-luxe baby rattle and matching bracelet fit for the baby prince. You can almost here North West and Kim Kardashian sighing at this, Beyonce only gave them a £5K rattle. Burn.
Dior’s Petits Bonheurs Collection made for the royal baby: “Dior wishes a happy life to the future Prince of Cambridge”
The gossipers amongst us are already thinking of who his future bride will be, including: Blue Ivy Carter (who is practically the Princess of Pop already), Harper Seven Beckham (The Beckhams were present at the royal wedding and imagine the style wars with the mums), Princess Leonor of Spain, Princess Estelle of Sweden, Suri Cruise (This diva would fit in well at Buckingham Palace). Even Katie Price's new baby, who isn't even confirmed as a girl yet- but could you imagine Kate Middleton and Katie Price in the same room planning a wedding. Imagine it. Or there's Jessica Alba's daughter Haven Warren, Penelope Disick, Princess Eleanor of Belgium, or North West. Imagine Princess North West of Cambridge, hmm. I bet the reality show would be a hit with the Queen slouching around to watch Jersey Shore.

Freja Beha Fever!

Hello Stylista's!

So today I'm rather happy, Freja Beha is making a comeback! And not just that, a model smiling on the cover of VOGUE. Yes, you wouldn't typically expect to hear 'model' or 'smiling' in the same sentence either. Her smile is contagious and she definitely suits British Vogue- her look is preppy and London. Plus she's got charisma, making her edgier. She's typically deemed as the model who can pull off the feminine and masculine looks.

She was signed at the start of July; has already booked a Prada campaign and Vogue cover. Job well done! In contrast to the much anticipated return of Australian model Gemma Ward. Gemma signed with reputable IMG in January, but hasn't booked any major campaigns...

R.I.P Talia Joy

R.I.P Talia Joy

Too many deaths this week, we'll need more tissues :( The beauty guru Talia Joy passed away this morning (July 16th) and the irony is that although she probably lived her life in pain, she displayed a joyful outlook on life and spread joy to many others. She died aged 13 after a seven year battle against a nerve form of cancer called neuroblastoma. After a tragic death, her family posted this official statement on her Facebook page:

'It is with a heavy heart that we share with all of you that Talia has earned her wings at 11:22am. Please lift her beautiful soul, her beautiful light to heaven and please send your love and prayers to her family during this most difficult time. God speed little one, may you be free from pain and suffering, may your soul feel the light and love that you brought to so many of us on this Earth during the short time you were her with us. We will miss you more than you will ever know baby girl.'

One of the things on Talia's Bucket List was to meet Kylie and Kendall Jenner. Sadly, Kylie did tweet this a few days ago;10 days ago, maybe Kylie knew it was coming? In my opinion, celebrities post these things on the day they find out not normally before...

But it is rumoured that Kylie, Kendall and even Bruno Mars sent her packages throughout her treatment. Plus she featured on 'The Ellen Show' and touched Ellen with her positive perspective on life. Ellen honoured Talia as a covergirl.

Well, heaven has gained two beautiful angels this week and we hope that they are in a happier place. Prayers go out to the families in these sorrow times. Perhaps you could this Friday 19th contribute to the #alittlefishyproject Talia would've loved that. Plus, spam M.A.C. cosmetics' Facebook page with requests for Talia's own make-up line, which was on her bucket list. All profits should go to a cancer charity <3

Fans have taken to completing tasks on Talia's bucket list, are you going to try any? If you do say in the comments and email us pictures! <3

Cory Monteith Dead

R.I.P to  Cory Monteith who is also known as Finn Hudson to Gleeks everywhere. Turns out the heartthrob battled with drugs and was found dead yesterday in a hotel room in Vancouver, due to drug abuse. At 31 years of age this is a tragic loss for his family and to his soon to be wife Lea Michele- who he was due to marry in two weeks time :( It's so unexpected as you couldn't imagine someone from Glee dying, they're all too happy and chirpy to be susceptible to drugs.

Many stars have taken to Twitter to pay tribute to the star:
Rihanna: Cory Monteith, may your spirit be at peace, and may you fly with the angels... Heartbreaking, my prayers are with all of his loved ones!

Kim Kardashian: Just heard about the death of Cory Monteith. So sad. Prayers 4 his family. Praying 4 Lea too! Words cant describe what they must be feeling

Jessica Wright: Oh my god cant believe Cory Monteith has died so tragic. Another waste of a life. So so sad. Heart goes out to his poor family and Lea Michele
Niall Horan: RIP cory ! Didn't know him personally! Met him on a couple of occasions! Super nice guy! Thoughts and prayers with his family and friends! X

Lydia Bright: Such a tragic story #RipCoryMonteith #PrayForLea
Post your condolences in the comments guys!

UPDATE Lea's statement:
The 26-year-old Glee actress, who plays Rachel in the hit series, said that she's "grieving" following the latest news from Cory's autopsy that the 31-year-old actor's tragic accidental death was caused by a toxic mixture of heroin and alcohol. Lea also wants to thank the fans for their continued 'love and support'. "Lea is deeply grateful for all the love and support she’s received from family, friends, and fans", she told People magazine. "Since Cory’s passing, Lea has been grieving alongside his family and making appropriate arrangements with them.
"They are supporting each other as they endure this profound loss together. We continue to ask the media to respect the privacy of Lea and Cory’s family."

Easy hairstyles! Fish Tail Braid

Fishtail BraidFishtail Braid Tutorial!

Do you know which is the most fashionable hair style these days? That`s right – a braid. However do you know what is even better – a fishtail braid. By following the steps below, you will manage to create a beautiful, sexy braid, which fits every outfit.

1. Brush your hair to make it as smooth as possible
2. Split the hair into top and bottom layer
3. Take the top section and split it into two sections
4. Start with the right part of the bottom section
5. Cross that section over the top right section and then add it to the top left section
6. Do the same with the bottom left section and you`ll get only two sections left
7. Now, take a piece from the right section .
8. Cross this piece over the top and add it to the left side
9. Do the same with a piece of hair from the left section
10. Add this to the right side
11. Repeat these steps as many times as necessary to get a beautiful fishtail braid.
12. When you reach the end of the hair twist the two sections inwards to secure the braid
13. Use a band to complete it and you are ready to go!

Dress codes smart casual

Advice-ish Column

'Hi ArrayO'Style, I've got my work experience next week and my uniform has to be 'Smart Casual' what does that mean and what should I wear?' From Alice in the UK.

Hi Alice!

Well when your employers as for the  the 'Smart Casual' look, they want you to feel comfortable in your clothes for the work you'll be experiencing (pun intended) but look neat and tidy around the edges. Depending on your placement you could be doing a lot of moving around or lifting. But, they don't want you to look too laid-back. At the end of the day you're still working for them and customers want to get the right idea about the brand, from the staff and their appearance. If you look scruffy, well the brand looks scruffy.

Smart Casual look tips (for work):

  • Do not even think about wearing tracksuit bottoms when you see the word 'casual'. It's a fashion crime. Instead opt for black bottoms or jeans; but double check with your employer, some won't allow jeans. Maybe 'Jeggings' would be a good idea if you know you'll be doing more manual jobs.
  • Try to avoid any logo's, slogans or names on your clothes. Think minimal. A white shirt or blouse would match the look, you can accessorise with a simple necklace on top.
  • When thinking of shoes- try to wear something similar to what you'd don for school. Stick to black shoes or preferably black pumps.
  • You can smarten the look up with a cute little blazer.

Now, there's the other type of smart casual: For parties or events. Ideally, shift dresses are good for this. It would look abnormal if you showed up in a full length, ballroom gown. Peplum dresses could work.

Smart Casual look tips (for a party):Smart Casual

Don't look overdone or overly coiffured.
  • Think classy, dresses should be mid-length
  • Make sure your make-up is minimal, a simple cat eye and lip gloss would look fine.
  • Ensure the outfit fits you appropriately, don't want to be constantly affixing it throughout the night!
  • Remember it is a party you're attending, don't look too constrained.

Cindy Crawford for Harpers Bazaar

Cindy in the city

Gosh she's still got it and this editorial is amazing. She's 47 and still shooting in her prime. Must be like wine, gets better with age. Naomi Campbell last week cascaded for Versace and even younger models were jealous of the 43 year old. Cindy did quit modeling in 2000, but still models occasionally and when she does, it's definitely an occasion to witness. Look how stunning these shots are! The styling is very minimal, but she does model statement oversized sunglasses, which all hollywood stars seem to wear so there are some links and the spread definitely showcases the L.A. lifestyle.
I think I prefer the black and white images to be honest as I don't really like the composition on the coloured ones, I think a vintage photo effect would make Cindy pop more.

Summer bucket list ideas 2013

Summer Bucket List 2013

So this summer I want to make it last as next summer I'll be fueled into the scary world of work. At the moment I'm browsing Tumblr to culminate my own Summer Bucket List. If you don't know what a Summer Bucket List it's just a list of things you want to complete by the time summer ends. Like a 'Bucket List' is a list of things you want to do by the time you kick the bucket... You can go as wild as you want to with these lists but the more practical things will be on your SBL than your normal BL. I've attempted my BL before but I may have got too ambitious. Really the most common things everyone wants to do in their life is:
1. Travel the world
2. Find 'The One'
3. Be successful and happy

I realised that yes I didn't need to do exuberant things, these 3 are really just want I want to do before I kick the bucket. My SBL is barely there but the first things include: Painting, attempting a craft which I will scrapbook and probably Instagram and bake rainbow cupcakes as they look so scrummy and cool. Can you tell Tumblr has probably started to dominate my life yet? Here are some cool Summer bucket list ideas for you and remember to share your ideas in the comments!

Contribute those ideas in the comments!
Plus, go wild and enjoy summer. But don't get into too much trouble :)

4th of July Nail art!

2nd Four of July nail tutorial!

Hope you all enjoyed the first nail tutorial. I did promise another nail tutorial and it's in this post. Tomorrow I might do some food and craft tutorials to get into the USA spirit. Plus it gets those creative juices flowing. This tutorial is a bit more fiddly and you need longer nails for this one.

You will need:

  • Red nail varnish
  • Dark blue nail varnish
  • White nail varnish
  • Clear nail varnish
  • Thin tape
  • Nail varnish remover pens- for any mistakes
  • Optional nail dryer
Method:
  1. Firstly, take your thin tape and put it on the line which separates the pink part of your nail from the white part of your nail. Paint below this line dark blue, like in the picture. Leave to dry or use a nail dryer.
  2. Now, using the thin tape divide the pink section of your nail into 3 even sections. Like in the picture. Place two strips down on your nail. Paint the middle section white and the two outer sections red. Leave to dry. I recommend giving at least two coats of varnish for a solid, brighter colour.
  3. So now the top half of your nail will be done. Next is the stars. You can buy transfers although they're normally bigger than the space you've got. You need a steady hand, so grab your nail art brushes and dotting tools and do two triangles on top of eachother. It's hard to describe, but just paint a star as you would with paint.
  4. Peel off your tape and leave to dry. Once dry apply a clear coat of varnish on top of the design.
Happy Independence Day Stylistas!

4th of July!

Okay so it's now July! Yes summer has barely started but still someone's mentioned the C word... There's even a C-word song on a TV advert now. In JULY. If you haven't realised what word it is, it's the occasion marked in December. It's my last week of school!  6 weeks of fun in the 'sun', weather permitting. It is English weather we're talking about. Not gonna lie on Sunday and Monday BBQ sales soared, sunglasses adorned and the sun cream spread everywhere. Then today; rain coats at the ready. I feel like the rain is just doing a dance to decide whether to come down fully, it's there. It's not there again. Oh look it's reappeared. False alarm everyone. Whereas, in America they're already on summer break and have probably got amazing weather to go with it. Lucky...

But an American celebration is Independence day this 4th of July and let's all get into the red white and blue spirit of things with a nail tutorial. As it's the second, I've supplied 2 nail art tutorials for the occasion. The first one will be published the now and it's easier, the second will be posted later on. So let's begin!

So the tutorial is more inspiration based and you could probably work out how to do it anyway, but there's always the method here:

You will need:

  • White nail varnish
  • Red nail varnish
  • Blue nail varnish
  • A clear coat of nail varnish
  • A dotting tool
Method:
  1. Firstly, apply your base white coat on top of your nails, you can apply two coats for a richer colour if you'd like to- but bear in mind there's going to be colour on top so it won't be in the spotlight as such. Leave to dry (you can use a nail dryer for this if you'd like).
  2. Now the fun bit! Take your dotting tool and red nail varnish. Dip the dotting tool into the red nail varnish and start dotting on each of your nails. Try to ensure there's an equal amount on each nail and don't go as overboard as you'd like to, because the blue still has to be applied.
  3. Continue step two with the blue nail varnish and if necessary the white nail varnish.
  4. Leave to dry.
  5. Now you can apply a clear coat of nail varnish on top. If you're feeling very daring, some stick on gems would be cute in the middle of the dots.
Happy 4th of July Stylistas!
