ArrayO'Style X POSE X Solis Magazine

So erm 2014 was so yesterday...
banner

As 2014 draws to a close, the chapters complete, the chocolates eaten in an attempt to start the 'New Year, New Me' diet which will last till the 3rd January... I find myself here feeling compelled to blog.

Yes, such a rare sight really. The previous blog post was on Black Friday and Halloween. A sort of monthly occurrence perhaps? But hey ho, no-one wants to see a long list of boring posts in comparison to a thought out post, which has creativity flowing through. So here it is.

2014. I love you. But unlike other social media users- I'm not one to blog about every aspect of my day (or life) so I'll skip the whole calendar of what happened this year. It has been a hectic one for my life and this has resulted in a less hectic, scarce blog (forgive me).

But, I'm pleased to announce a friend of mine onto the blog today. This friend is called 'POSE' and we have collaborated beforehand. POSE is an online network of models, photographers, make-up artists and everyone style worthy. They live on Facebook although are venturing into Instagram (@Poseofficial) and Twitter very, very soon. Not one to miss out celebrities, Lydia Lucy has been shot by them and emulated the daring, appeal of a cat and the sophisticated, form of a ballerina

Although, today I'm excited to reveal POSE's first magazine cover with the 'ICE QUEEN' taking centre stage. For their December issue featuring 'The best of the best' it was an honour to have POSE on the cover and I have a feeling during 2015, ArrayO'Style and POSE will be collaborating a lot more often.

Oh and my words were used to illustrate the spread. Click on the image below to go through to the official article- http://solismagazine.com/2014/fashion-editorial-ice/

Hi all,

Just to let you know I may start blogging on a specific day each month to ease the scarce blog post scenario. :)

#HalloweenOStyle - Dreadfully drastic Disney

Hola Stylistas

Hope your Halloween preparations are going swell. Here is our second Halloween Heroine: Minnie Mouse. Hopefully in a less cliche way than her typical appearance- or a more grown up approach. Minnie grew up and grew stylish. She also got a job to manage her shopping addiction and sparkly, blood red nails seemed appropriate to torment the humblings of Halloween. After all, her red could symbolise love when with Mickey. But without him, is she a monstrous wreck?

#HalloweenOStyle - Inspired by TeenVogue

#HalloweenOStyle

Here is the first Halloween Heroine for the week's trio of devilish, delights. (I can't promise they will all be heroines sadly!). Today, I admit... I saw the Dorothy idea on a Teen Vogue article on hipster Halloween ideas. However, Dorothy is such a classic, stereotypical look which is more gorgeous than ghoulish- making it perfect for those of us who just don't suit vampire attire (sorry Bella and co).

Fitted with devinely deceiving 'ruby red slippers', baby blue gingham and a woven basket- all you need is your pet pooch to follow the yellow brick road towards the party season!

During the week remember to vote for your fave costume. Via Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Polyvore or Pinterest! The more likes each character receives, the more popular they are. Who knows; I might dress up in the costume with the most votes at the end of the week!

All Hallows' Eve- #Halloween 2014

All Hallow's Eve

As Halloween creeps in, in such a sinister manner- onto us, the fashion world responds. Big time.

This year, as part of a qualification I am collaborating on an exciting Halloween project (did someone say zombie apocalypse?). Of which you will be the first to see its debut. But, in order to celebrate Halloween in plenty of time- I've attached hyperlinks to our blog's most popular Halloween DIY's and tutorials over the years.

Trial them out and use the hashtag #HalloweenOStyle to get involved. My favourite ones will be featured on here and in a Halloween slideshow for Youtube.

Have fun.
Next week I will be releasing 3 more devastatingly, scary ideas from Monday-Wednesday at 6pm in time for the big day on Friday.

Hasta La Vista Stylistas,
xoxo

TOP 5 STYLE STAPLES FOR ... AUTUMN!

Hello all!

Today I'll be focussing on the dreary topic of the death of summer and the arrival of Autumn. Where summer brung it's heat, ice creams and vacations. Autumn strickens with hot chocolate, chilled cosy fires and the soft, startings of school. But school is relaxed in contrast to the busy exam period the summer is infamous for. But, how could we forget the lavish setting of London Fashion week and humble British trenchcoats and ankle boots- setting the idyllic scene.

As my blog name suggests- this post will be an explosion of style, tailored with 5 style staples you should be investing in for Autumn.

1. Jumper
If Tumblr hasn't got you ecstatic for a wooly, Winter saviour have you been hiding under a social media rock this year? Jumpers are great for those Autumn moments when it's not too cold for a massive coat, but cold enough for a quaint save from hypothermia. I like this fluffy jumper from Louche Hender as periwinkle blue is perfect for the season's unpredictable weather tendencies. Available to purchase here- http://rstyle.me/~2riey

2. Ankle Boots
From Cara to Poppy to Alexa- ankle boots are constantly appearing on the feet of every star in the sky and on screen. These Balenciaga boots are no question. Soft leather and a wooden sole sets it apart from its competitors and makes it so much more desirable in the Autumn chills. Available to purchase here- http://rstyle.me/~2rihM

3. Lip Balm
There is nothing stylish about chapped lips. No matter how luscious or red they were throughout the summer- Autumn crushes in the new year will not be into dry labia. And how about lips which emulate the sweet, scent of strawberries? How much more desirable will you become? Buck the challenge now and apply your way to a confident pout by purchasing here- http://rstyle.me/~2rilI

4. Gloves
Who wants frosted, red, icey fingers? I'm not sure about you, but I always forget to buy gloves right until the last minute when they're invalid. So, remember to get there first before you have no fingers left to actually order any with. So how about getting your Winter necessities in tact before school starts? Check out these beauts now- http://rstyle.me/~2ss9I

5. Beanie
Beanie- the perfect bad hair day solution and instant style update. Plus, whilst it's exasperatingly chilly- your head will feel the draft instantly and rephrase your mood that day. So, to stop surrendering to Jack Frost and his fiesty, feels why not grab your beanie and ensure it is the first item on your 'Back To School' shopping list? View one of my favourite beanies here- http://rstyle.me/~2ss6C

It's our BLOGIVERSARY!

Happy birthday to ArrayO'Style!

Yes this blog has been alive and living for 3 years now.

Today, I did have a big competition planned... but hey plans change and there are some things in life that just don't go according to plan. I could say that about ArrayO'Style. At the start it did take a long time to get readers coming back for more and I still think that. But, I think we are functioning fine as we are. So what we are not huge like Bethany Mota or Zoella's blogs? So what. We are fine for ourselves and well, readers do follow us and email lovely messages. <3

Stop comparing yourselves to others and you will soon flourish.

But, I do have a mini competition for you all- use the hastag #MYSTYLE with a picture and blog link to the favourite article I've posted. The best ones will get a retweet, regram and mention on the blog along with the chance to interview me for a future 'Viewers Q&A' post or maybe video...  :)

#TeenBlogSeries ¦ Best Foundation and Brow routine for teens

Hola Stylistas!

So as part of the #TeenBlogSeries programme todays post is about the 'Best Foundation and Brow routine for teens'. As someone who isn't a beauty blogger this will be a treacherous post.

I'm not going to lie, but I don't do the whole make-up thing or brow routine so this post will probably lack in content... but lets begin.
Why don't I do make-up? Because I'm a teenager, not an adult. I'm not saying that teenagers shouldn't wear make-up in general, as no-one should judge anyone else. A lot of women in my life have said their best beauty tip is to not wear make-up when they didn't need to, especially when you're young and youthful as it'll be regretted in your latter years. And well, I'm not one to argue with my mum, grandma or anyone older :)

*Interupted by a parcel from Roxy and had a mini meltdown as it was not how it was in the photo, oh god*
So I class Foundation as make-up. Another reason I don't like applying it is A) my skintone has a chameleon ability, so it's hard to find one which isn't orange and actually matches. Frankly extra stress from finding a matching tone is not desired. B) Foundation just stops spots healing! Period. Spots need air to heal so concealing them with more toxic, chemicals just won't help in the long run. No-one wants another volcano eruption, am I right girls?

As for eyebrows... they've witnessed either high praise or nasty comments... from either make-up artists or peers. You can guess who said what in the comments :) * In regards to comments I have tried to reply to them, but blogger doesn't let me do threaded comments for some reason, so let me know on Twitter if you haven't received a reply as I value comments!*

Surprisingly, I do nothing to my face in general. Apart from cleanser, toner and moisturizer. For eyebrows, I've started using the Rimmel 'Brow this way' styling wand. Mainly because it was cheap and the ends of my brows have been going a bit wacko lately. Too early a stage to tell a difference.

To conclude, I hope you've found this different but hey variety is the spice of life, one's rant is another's treasure.

Hasta La Vista Stylistas!
