Runway

Cotton candy pinks, pistachio greens and lemon meringue yellows. Candy coloured nails are so cute, if they weren't toxic and life-threatening I would eat them! Candy coloured/pastels/ice cream colours took pride of place on Chanel during fashion week, now it's your time to get those nails done. Here are some tips from nail expert Sue if you want to try it out:

  • With this trend, long nails (Ew) are out replaced by short squares with a curved edge.
  • Always file nails in one direction, never file back and forth (Naughty me!) as this weakens the nails.
  • Take your time painting, so the nails do not chip.
  • A base coat is very important to achieve a smooth finish. Use a lycra coat (I'll post one for you!)
  • Once the base is done, apply TWO coats of your chosen gummy bear.
Choosing colours? Let me, stay tuned for my picks and unfortunately they are not 50p this time :(

Tuesday 3rd January

Tuesday!

Today was interesting, only had to wake up at 7:30 to get into school for 8:45 to hear I need to 'Maintain high standards'. Surely a school would know that they could just email a few thousand students that or text us, rather than making us get up early and also annoying the teachers. But today was that day. I was 'cleaning' when the Old&Wise one said 'Oh gawd i'm going to be 27 tomorrow' oh sugar. She and I nipped out to town and got her cards and a limited edition white chocolate toblerone, of course it's 99p! When you're speed shopping you just pick up and go. But when you get tripped up by a family of bikes on the pavement, it does slow down the wrapping process. She was furious (As we live near a primary school which promotes cycling, as to being the best thing ever, she is used to this and always just passes civily) but today was no exception. She turned around and said, 'No apology? Well did you know it's against the law to be riding there. I could have you done for that and for assault. You're lucky my daughter didn't break anything'. The look people give you these days. Of course I did a bit of a cry, who doesn't and I also said in a very posh accent 'Teach your children some manners before they turn into criminals'. But no apology at all, some people really do make you sick. I did however shave their dog as he walked past, hair removal cream just happened to fall out of my pocket. I have now got that day before school feeling, oh well. See ya;s for tomorrow!

Back 2 Skool

Some of us go back to school today (I went for 10 minutes) so a little good luck from me.

Runway

Candy Coloured hair has been a hit with celebrities like the candy queen Katy Perry, kooky queen Nicki Minaj and it embraced on the runway at Thakoon S/S 2012. This is all part of the big fairytale trend for Spring and everyone is supposedly meant to have candy hair that pops! The make-up itself is fresh faced.

Lauren Conrad is thought to have started the craze after posting this photo on twitter:

How to achieve this look:

1. Mix hair bleach and developer in a plastic bowl until you get an icy-like consistency.
2. Section out your hair; keep first section on top of head with a clip.
3. Split the bottom section in 1/2 and apply bleach to desire ends up to your desire length. Feather the brush towards the top and cover completely.
4. Apply foil (yes, you can steal the foil in your kitchen) to each section of hair, take bottom half of your hair down and do the same.
5. Heat ends with a blow dryer and check each section to make sure they are fully saturated.
6. Remove foils and rinse over the sink.
7. Put your desired hair color into a plastic cup and apply generously! This is the time to have some fun.
8. Wrap colored hair in plastic bag and apply heat, the longer it holds, the better the color keeps.
9. Let hair cool for 5 minutes.
10. Rinse ends with condition and smile at your sick new hair in the mirror!

Monday 2nd January

Monday!

Today was interesting. I almost lost it with Mymaths as it wouldn't mark my work. Oh well. Tomorrow at school we have an event called 'Preparing for success day' which we go into school for 10 MINUTES and talk about how to improve in school. A waste of time I think, specially as they do it in alphabetical order so B surenames have to be at school for 8:30! Then Z's will be at 3pm. Complete waste of time you agree? Last night I went to a sleepover,  It was five in the morning and I was woken up by two of my friends who were being really hyper, and giving me a migraine! They told be a rather rude joke and I laughed so hard I wet the bed a little bit. I was hoping they wouldn't notice, but when I moved they felt the wet patch and screamed! Instead of taking the blame I blamed it on the girl who had had to go home earlier because she wasn't feeling well. Now I'm a bit anxious for school on Wednesday. Like my ballerina top today, it's kinda with the fairytale trend. Slightly. See ya's for tomorrow and don't forget to follow!

I want one of those!

I've spoilt you a bit today finding my under a pound cosmetics, here's some nail varnishes to keep you in tip top condition, I also found a lipgloss pendant which is pretty good for under £4.
