#MyCosmoStyle What would you wear in #VEGAS?

#MyCosmoStyle
So recently whilst chilling on holiday (well in England and working...), I got into the new Kim Kardashian iPhone app 'Hollywood' and reached 70 million fans on there (says a lot about how addictive the game is...it's like grown up Stardoll). I'm not normally a Kim K fan and posting her name on here isn't exactly dream worthy; it links with my next point. Holiday locations. It only costs $20 to fly to Las Vegas on the app! $60 to fly to London! That got me thinking... Vegas. Flashy lights, cocktails in a plethora of colours and gambling. Vegas may not be a fashion capital [yet] but it sure sounds like an inspiration capital. Take a look at these images of the beautiful 'Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas'. To view more of the captivating Cosmopolitan, visit: http://www.vegas.com/resorts/cosmopolitan/

But, before you've hit the slot machine jackpot. What would you wear in Vegas?

Katy Perry's donned her 'Vegas' get up before at an event in... VEGAS! But, I'm not as daring as Katy's (stylist) style so I thought I'd try on my own Vegas get-up and gamble chic.

Who wore it best?

Archie's girls lipsticks..
Runway!

I've always been a fan of Pop art and Roy Lichtenstein's work. Just realised he died when I was one day old, lol. Anyway... Pop-art (if you don't know) is basically comic book style pictures. As you can see from the shoes it's got the 'POW' which is how it would appear in the comic books, to add action to the tale. The shoes are from go-to-show-designer Charlotte Olympia and she's collaborated with Art Basel, the range is exclusive and can be bought in Miami.

The fashion industry has recently latched onto the idea; M.A.C cosmetics have launched their Spring/Summer 2013 range 'Archie's Girls',which encompasses the pop-art genre/style. The range features the two girls Betty and Veronica throughout the products.

It's not just M.A.C that have latched onto the trend, but the 'POW' effects, batman logos and comic shenanigans have emerged onto the celebrities we adore. Come to think of it, you've probably seen something pop-art inspired on someone in town/school etc.
If Style Could Kill: Dress for Action! One dress. Two celebs. Who wore it better? Little Mixer Jesy (accessorising with grungy ankle boots) on the left or Cheryl Cole (with tied back hair and sleek heels) on the right.

Comment below with Jesy or Cheryl.

Runway

These boots are made for walking! Except, they're not entirely boots. They're decadent, delicately detailed artisan crafted shoes. What a mouthful. On the Autumn/Winter 2012/2013 catwalks they were styled in a manifesto of ways like, Filigree cages wrapped stiletto heels at Ralph Lauren. Then Seventies wood vinyl prints were aplenty at Rochas. Whilst models weren't hot on their heels as the tottered on icy stalagmites at Chanel, which is seen on your left. However, Missoni got edgy with their signature zig-zag and embroidered onto tasty Toblerone shaped heels, then overlaid them with triangular shaped studs. YSL crafted shards of metallic green, gold and silver plastic into mirrored shards.
What do you think? Very leather and kinda Mulberry style to  them.

Fashion week

New York Fashion week has started and usually I'm ahead of the game, but this year I've just been waiting for the weekend. This year, I have some sources who will be at London Fashion Week so that'll be exciting. I tried asking for a ticket or even 'being a bag' but security's tight there. I came across the 'Pantone fashion colour report' with some sketches I thought were ravishing. Particulary BCBG, David Meister and Peter Som. Pamela Roland, Rachel Roy are close seconds. Which gowns would you don?

Elegantly waisted
While fashion's focus remains on the slender waist, the silhouette has softended.Last season's flamboyant peplums give way to beautifully tailored curves and belted middles, creating an hourglass line that is smart and super-feminine. The belt is one the season's big accessory stories, whether cinching a sleek pencil dress - like at Philosophy Di Alberta Ferretti, Victoria Beckhamand Dolce & Gabbana - or over winter coats at Chloe, Dior and Rodarte.Follow these tips to ensure you're looking hot this Autumn/Winter:
  • Belts are one of autumn's big accessory stories. Wearing yours in the same colour palette as your jacket or dress will elongate the torso rather than breaking it up.
  • When cinching coats and heavier jackets, choose an elasticated belt for maximum movement and flexibility.
  • The new shapely tailored jackets are an easy way to lend lean, boyish figures the illusion of womanly curves.

Runway

I found this very interesting. Myself, i'm not keen on make-up. But, I do like very accentuated make-up. Like these, 'Graphic Eyes'. Imagine going out with these! A big trend for Autumn/Winter 2012-13 all you need is a black liquid eye liner. *Spreading inspiration!*

The bigger, the more beautiful this autumn, with cocoon coats, pillow-sleeved jackets, billowing trousers and softly structured skirts embeding the collections. "Oversize was the cool new message this season: shoulders were dropped, lengths were long and trousers had low crotches," Vogue fashion director Lucinda Chambers explains. "It's a look ideal for a confident tomboy who likes to keep things simple, strict and streamlined." The easy way to oversize? Contrast volume with slimline structure in a stylish pairing of opposites. Want to get the look, try these tips?
  • Eschew accessories when dabbling in oversized - let your silhouette be the focus.
  • Skinny cigarette pants are the perfect partner to a cocoon coat - creating an elegant contrast. Take your cue from Stella McCartney.
  • Wear your oversized coat one size up, then belt the waist if you feel a little swamped.

Cool Cobalt!
IT would be unjust to pay homage to autumn's favourite primary without referencing the dressing down Meryl Streep gave Anne Hathaway in The Devil Wears Prada. It was a monologue that opened our lexicon to what laymen would have once called 'blue'."You go to your closet and you select that lumpy blue sweater, for instance, because you're trying to tell the world that you take yourself too seriously to care about what you put on your back. But what you don't know is that that sweater is not just blue, it's not turquoise, it's not lapis. It's actually cerulean. And you're also blithely unaware of the fact that in 2002, Oscar de la Renta did a collection of cerulean gowns. And then I think it was Yves Saint Laurent , who showed cerulean military jackets? And then cerulean quickly showed up in the collections of eight different designers." And so she went on.  When the autumn shows rolled out in February, it was clear designers hadn't quite cast off thoughts of their upcoming summer holidays. An ocean of azure washed over the catwalks, making a bold statement for winter where elsewhere traditional autumnal hues of forest green, earthy burgundy and midnight navy dominated.

Runway

Why wear one lovely piece when five look even lovelier? This t'was the question for Autumn/Winter 2012.  And why stick to one luxe fabric when a wealth of lavish layers looks so spectacular? Pairing skirts (Very Peplum) with trousers is key to the new layered look - seen at Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs and Prada -  styled slim and cropped. It's also been spotted on celebrities such as Florence Welch. Top tips to conquer this trend:
  • Key to the new layered look is the pairing of skirts and trousers - if that feels a little extreme, try wearing a tunic over trousers instead.
  • If the thought of layering makes you feel overwhelmed, steamline the look by cinching your waist or choose a cropped jacket instead of a full-length style.
  • Height is a necessity as a longer line stops the look feeling bulky, so add heels or autumn's favourite flat-form creepers.

Runway!

Purple is the colour of passion and luxury. Now it's the colour of Autumn/Winter 2013. Historically, purple was only worn by those wealthy, few. But in modern times- it can be worn by everyone! It's the colour of all collections. This is not a trend that relies on key pieces - everything from trouser suits to cocktail dresses, handbags, ankle boots and clutches are ultra violet for autumn/winter 2012-13. Even the carpets were saturated in jewel shades of purple at Gucci, Prada and Christopher Kane. The models at Roberto Cavalli even had purple, lit eyes. Look at these outfits for inspiration:

Look at the citrus flavours from New York, makes me want to grab a lemon slice. Designers flooded fashion week with draped, ensembles covered in vibrant lemon and limes.

Citrus colours are always popular for the Spring/Summer as they ooze the Summer haze. Lemon also compliments tans quite well- another reason to go and tan. Overall, New York kept the colour muted; but decided to go zesty when colour was desired.

How will you be rocking the trend this season?

Peplum Perfecto,

As you've probably seen on celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Victoria Beckham and the TOWIE crew (Do two of those three count as celebrities?) and even 'royalty' as Kate Middleton has graced the Peplum a few times. I do believe designers have embraced 'The Kate effect' this season. As you can see, the Peplum has graced the catwalks many times this season- in particular I love them all, especially the second outfit. The third is rather regal.

The Peplum can come as a blouse or a dress; has originated from the 1940's. It's handy for cinching in the waist and flatters the hips- giving the illusion of an 'hourglass' figure.
Lipsy have a fabulous range of Peplum's and I would gladly recommend some from Amazon- unfortunately on Amazon they do not have the style I was looking for.

Born in the summer haze (8)

Summery sandals!
SUN SUN SUN, HERE IT COMES! (8) Well, not today; When I was out in my shorts freezing. I did promise you some Summery shoes. I may be a tad late, but I haven't been feeling springy this week so here's the article! Aztec has been everywhere this season, even on the footwear and Amazon doesn't disappoint. Here's my top 4!
1) The bottom two are standard, the top two are fabulous. I love the lilac feathers and the beading, you can feel like a Red Indian goddess! The sandals are man made and are great for festivals :) These beauties are priced at £7.99 which isn't too bad for the quality you receive. They really remind me of Ugg style shoes. To get a closer look, look here:

2) OMFG, LOOK AT THESE SHOES! So much fabulosity! Perfect for holiday goers, or festivalers. I prefer the grey shade compared to the black and white as the grey is more natural. These low wedges are made from man made leather and have peacock style, feather detailing. I will be buying these for my holiday to Turkey as I think these will just suit the holiday. Not necessarily my clothes, but I can change! I personally think khaki would work well and also muted colours- Also being tanned would suit (Back garden in a bit!).Priced at £12.99 each.  To have a look at the Louis Vuitton lookalikes (Second pic), click here:

3) Under £5 for a pair of sandals. Say what! Okay, so they're not the nicest but they have the best reviews and best price, so they're worth a glance. In my opinion, these are the most wearable sandals. They would also look fantastic with the ditzy, summer dresses shown earlier this week. So how about it?

4) These are sweet. Very nice for evening wear, how could anyone resist these? They wouldn't hurt your feet aswell mainly because they're so comfy! They also have raving reviews, and they 'Look really expensive'. Check these babies out at a tenner:

Summer days

The sun is shining (8) Which is some Ibiza song which I don't know the name of...
Gotta adore those little, Summer dresses :) Check out my top 4 ditzy, dresses from Amazon brand 'Banana Flame'.  I think if this segment has much interest, i'll be discovering hidden brands :)

1. I love the Cath Kidston vibe from this dress. Cath Kidston is very British and has mastered the florals effect. Very vintage and very flattering with the 'Sweetheart' neckline. This dress is £19.99. This dress I would team up with deer coloured sandals and accessories, if a belt is needed go for a skinny belt.

2. This playsuit is a bit of an awkward one for myself. I adore the shape of it, but I'm not sure the pattern is as Summery. The playsuit is open back- perfect for all over tanning! And has some adorable ruffles. It's a tad overpriced at £12.99 and is in stock in ALL sizes. To look closer click here:

3. A bit more of a power print, and if you're late for that party on holiday; Just zip up in seconds! Perfect for 'Summer Nights', I think this should be worn with a bit more edge. Studs on sandals and silver accessories. Straps are adjustable :) Priced at £21.99! Bit of a rip off, but she's yours if you want a close up:

4. Wowzahs! You've gotta be brown to pull of this crisp, white, angelic chiffon, frill dress. Including waterfall frills; ooh, fancy! Comes with an elasticated waistband, convenient if you indulge in too many 99 flakes. Priced at £19.99, this dress is worth it. As it's white, white can be worn with everything. In particular i'd choose a cool, aqua accessories. To take a step into becoming an angel click here:

Tomorrow I shall find some perfect, sandals for the Summer :)
